About Just Right Weather

Just Right Weather was created by a geographer and GIS professional with over 15 years of experience working with National Weather Service data.

I have spent my career analyzing weather and geographic data and making maps for a living. Outside of work, I’ve always been drawn to one simple question: where does the weather feel the best today? Over time, I realized that many people share the same instinct—planning trips, outdoor activities, or even daily routines around comfortable weather.

This site is a personal project built for curiosity and enjoyment. It combines forecast-based weather data with geographic analysis to highlight where conditions are likely to feel the most pleasant—based on temperature, sunshine, humidity, and wind.

I hold a degree in Geography from Portland State University and have lived in a wide range of climates across the United States, from coastal and mountainous regions to desert and continental interiors. Experiencing weather in many different environments helped shape how I think about comfort beyond just temperature alone.

When I’m not working with maps or forecasts, I enjoy landscape photography, hiking, and visiting national parks. Many of the images featured on this site are my own photographs, taken while exploring places where the weather truly felt just right.

Just Right Weather is not intended to replace official forecasts or decision-making tools. It’s a weather-focused exploration—created for people who appreciate good weather and enjoy seeing how it changes across the country.
